Why is the belief in the finality of Prophethood so important to Muslims?
The belief in the finality of Prophethood is essential because Islam teaches that the message sent through Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) is complete, perfect, and sealed until the Day of Judgment. There is no need for a new prophet, new revelation, or updated message, because the Qur’an has been preserved in its original form, and the Sunnah provides a complete guidance for all aspects of life. This principle protects the religion from distortion, innovation, or false messengers.
Since Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani claimed a prophetic role after the final messenger, Muslims see this as a direct contradiction of one of the most widely agreed-upon Islamic beliefs. For true Muslims, protecting the seal of Prophethood is a responsibility, and rejecting any claim after Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) is an act of safeguarding the integrity of Islam.
